Description
Book now for 2024! The Carolina Bound Adventures half-day hike is anticipated to be around a 3-4 hour adventure. The hike includes a backcountry guide and outdoor gear! Backpack, hiking poles, and basic hiking gear essentials. We’ll pick a hike based on your desired exertion level, mild, medium, or “let’s go for it!” We specialize with individuals and families new to the Western North Carolina area or new to hiking that want to get out and hike, but may not have the experience or gear and want a guided adventure. 2-person minimum booking required. All back country guides are wilderness first aid certified and we practice leave no trace protocols. Carolina Bound Adventures operates under a special Great Smoky Mountains National Park permit and holds Commercial Use Authorizations for Shuttles, Guided Hikes and Backpacking. The owners of CBA are the sweetest most accepting people ever. We had a blast hiking up to see the eclipse with them. They thought of EVERYTHING from delightful bloody marys to moon pies for snacking on during the eclipse to listening to the Dark Side of the Moon. They truly made the eclipse experience one to treasure forever. The group was small and intimate and everyone was very respectful. CBA was kind enough to open their home to everyone and cook us up super tasty meals throughout the day. We will definitely be booking an adventure with them again.

Mark was an excellent guide, so glad we found him. My husband and I came to Bryson city for our honeymoon, and Mark took us on a guided waterfall hike. My husband has had multiple knee surgeries, and has difficulty with hills, but Mark was able to accommodate us, and we did not feel rushed at all. We were able to go as slow as needed, and still saw all the beautiful sights. I’ve visited the smokies yearly since I was a child, and I still learned so much about the mountains from Mark. Highly recommend!

Mark at Carolina Bound Adventures was a fantastic guide. He personalized our hike based on conversations and emails prior to us arriving in Bryson City. On the hike, he taught us so much about the history of the area and the many flowers, trees, and mushrooms that grow there. No bears, snakes or pigs were seen, but we were ready for whatever we encountered.
