He taught us a lot about the area's history and details about the various species of wildflowers and trees. He also told us how to react if we ever encountered a black bear. Booked a waterfall & brewery tour with CBA for my husband's birthday. We took some friends so we had the whole tour to ourselves which was extremely cool. The waterfalls were first which was cool because the crowds were at a minimum. Lunch and the breweries followed. The weather was beautiful enough to just sit outside and enjoy a cold one...a few times. No one was disappointed in their beer choices which was great because my husband is picky about his beer. :) Mark is super personable and in-the-know and seems to have a great rapport with all of the breweries so we were well taken care of. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and the beer at the breweries were delicious. We rented a canoe at a great price and drop off and pick up was easy and enjoyable. He also touch base with us, prior to the day of, to make sure we were all set. I recently visited Bryson City, North Carolina with my family. My son and I wanted to mountain bike in the great Smoky Mountains National Park, but we did not bring our bikes or gear with us. We ended up finding Carolina Bound Adventures and got in touch with Mark. Mark told us about all the different options they had and we ended up booking for the next day. Mark worked with our schedule and delivered high quality bikes and gear, and a detailed map about where we could go riding. Afterwards, he even shuttled us back into town which was extremely helpful. I would recommend Mark very highly as he is extremely knowledgeable about the area and has a wide variety of adventures to offer. My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our hiking/waterfall tour with Mark! It was a beautiful fall morning & the scenery was spectacular! Mark adds so much to the adventure with his historical knowledge of the area, as well as the ecological diversity of the Great Smoky Mountains. So it wasn’t just a great hike & seeing gorgeous waterfalls, it was also an educational experience. We also did the mountain biking/waterfall tour which was an adventure in itself considering we hadn’t biked in 6 years & never mountain biked. But Mark educated us on the proper way to navigate our bicycles for the trek up & downhill. He was kind enough to carry our extra waters & snacks in his back pack too. He also was prepared for the minor superficial cuts my husband got courtesy of his bike riding. Again the waterfalls we saw were so beautiful & bike ride especially down the mountain was quite thrilling & exhilarating. Highly recommend both excursions! On top of it, our transportation plans fell thru & Mark & Sarah picked us up for our excursions, took us back to our lodge & then to the airport on the day of our departure. My sister and I put together a group of friends for a bucket list trip to hike Mt LeConte and stay overnight in the cabins. Mark and Joni shuttled us to the trailhead from Waynseville on Friday morning and picked us up from another trailhead on Saturday morning. We had two hikers injured on the way down and Joni waited an additional two hours until they were safely down. We enjoyed getting to know what a wonderful person she is during that time. They shared lots of interesting stories and history about the Smokies, the history of Fontana Dam, and the Cherokee during our time together.
