We’ll bring the kayak(s) and Guide for you to explore beautiful Fontana Lake in Bryson City. Enjoy the scenery, explore coves, have a relaxing day, take a lunch! No experience required, all kayak equipment provided. Children 8+. 250 lb. weight limit. 2 person minimum booking required. Advanced Reservations Required. This was my first time kayaking since I was a kid and my partners first time being in a double kayak, he explained the basics to us and was patient while we learned how to steer and row together. We enjoyed an adventure with Carolina Bound on July 22, 2023. Mark was our guide on Lake Fontana. He took our family of 5, (ages 19 – 62), in sit-on-top, lake – kayaks. The water and scenery were beautiful. He shared historic information about Lake Fontana as well as sharing insights into the area from a locals perspective. Multiple favorites about the day. Mark the owner and guide is a wealth of knowledge about Lake Fontana as well as the whole Nantahala area and Bryson City. He is an excellent communicator. Our kayak adventure was both beautiful and educational. He and his wife were amazing guides as well as kind good people. Our group of mid 60’s age women handled our trip without difficulty due to their instruction and guide skills. I could not have asked for a more perfect day in such a beautiful setting. I highly recommend Carolina Bound Adventures and will definitely use them in the future.

We were in Bryson City for a family getaway – first time in the area. We have young kids (3 and 5) and were hoping to get out on the lake but were early in the season so many of the outfitters were not yet open. Luckily, we found Carolina Bound Adventures online – their website was so easy to navigate & book & Mark was very responsive & helpful over the phone.
