The “Rails and Trails” package! A ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is followed by a trip on the roads less traveled in a custom Jeep. You will ride through the Smoky Mountains, cross Fontana Lake on a trestle bridge and up into the Nantahala Gorge. On your 2 hour train ride, watch paddlers challenge the rapids on the Nantahala River. Then a back-country ride awaits you on the roads less traveled in a specialty Jeep. Experience colorful history and natural beauty while sitting back and leaving the driving to us. Lunch and transportation back to your car in Bryson City is included. Children must weigh 40 pounds. We took the train out of Bryson City, where we met fantastic people and saw some incredible views. When we stopped, we were met at the train by our driver, Marvin, who gave us a fantastic Jeep tour. Marvin was great about taking us to wonderful waterfalls and spots along the river. We also traveled up the mountain to see the Appalachian Trail and walked across a swinging bridge. My family would definitely do this again. Thanks to Marvin and all of the rest of the kind staff!

Wonderful company with wonderful excursions! Kayaking on Fontana Lake for the second year in a row with Carolina Bound Adventures was great.
